History of YMCA
The YMCA’s legacy in Gadsden dates back to 1886, with the establishment of the first local chapter in 1906. Since then, the YMCA of the Coosa Valley has woven a rich and diverse history that mirrors the community it serves. From the Gulf Steel YMCA to its own facility on Walnut Street, and now to the innovative “Y Without Walls” model, the YMCA remains dedicated to enhancing our city and fortifying our community.
